Fred Fanning has been in the insurance industry for more than 57 years and has owned the Cambridge Group since 1979. In addition to his duties as owner, he manages the agency's marketing, is responsible for all life and long-term care clients, and also assists with commercial accounts. Fred holds a CLU designation, and is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table.
Fred enjoys solving client problems, and is proud to offer insurance protection at a reasonable cost. He enjoys building lasting relationships with his clients and truly cares about his customers. Whether offering industry tips via a newsletter, or assisting throughout the claims process, Fred and the rest of the Cambridge Group are dedicated to serving their clients however they can.
Vice President David Fanning has been part of the Cambridge Group for 26 years and serves as the agency’s personal lines manager. From home and auto to life insurance, David enjoys educating his clients on the different insurance options and helping them make an informed decision.
David wants his clients to know that he works for them – not the carrier. He is committed to serving his customers, and will work to make sure that they are properly protected for every stage of life.
Commercial Account Executive Megan Wayne joins the Cambridge Group team from
the health insurance sales industry. She specializes in commercial lines
and is dedicated to clients getting the best value for their insurance needs
and addressing any questions.
For Megan, being able to help serve customers and provide great service is the most rewarding part of the job.
Personal Lines Producer Hailey Fanning-Allen has worked at the Cambridge Group since 2014. She received her producer license in October of 2015 and enjoys helping her clients with their personal insurance needs.
Charles received a bachelor’s degree in history from St. John’s University, Collegeville MN, in 1968. He was awarded the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from the American College in 1984 and added the Chartered Financial Consultant degree in 1990. He has been advising business owners and high net worth families since 1980. Throughout his career he has committed himself to thinking creatively to find ways to help private enterprise prosper. He has 40 years of experience helping business owners capture the full value of their business if they suffer a permanent disability or die prematurely, and at retirement.
As co-founder of the Longmont Community Foundation he works to create partnerships between non-profits and communities to help achieve their social mission.
He has been active in his church and community serving on the Board of the Longmont Chamber, the Longmont Long Range Planning Commission, the St John the Baptist Parish Council and School Board, and the board of Life Choices, a northern Colorado consortium of Crisis Pregnancy Centers. He is currently serving on the volunteer staff of Contemplative Outreach of Colorado. His latest enterprise, PROJECT ATONEMENT, is in the formation stage and aims to raise money from Christian parishes and the public at large to pay for counseling of clergy sexual abuse victims
He and his wife, Phyllis have three children and live in Denver, Colorado.

Commercial Lines Producer Joani Colwell has been with the Cambridge Group for 8 months now. She is new to the producer commercial industry, but has 18 years of experience with credit insurance. Her specialties include Restaurant, Garages and Lessor Risk.
Her favorite part about working in the insurance industry is that there is never a dull moment, it is consistency without the monotony.
Joani grew up in Colorado before moving to the Midewest. She spent 18 years in Illinois raising her 2 children before relocating back to Colorado in 2013.
